Well, I decided I had to work on some of my larger unfinished projects for a while. I started blankets for my little special people a couple years ago, but life got in the way and I never finished them. Of course, a couple years is a long time and children outgrow their interests and I now have these few started that may not be age appropriate. Oh well, they will be added to my inventory and posted on Etsy.....still trying to get good pictures. This blanket I know will be a hit no matter the age. I love the feminity of the design paired with the horses. The textile designer is P & B Textiles and the print is called American Beauties. I am sure the fabric is not available anymore. Could not find it on the
P & B Textiles web page.

Setting up my Etsy Shop
Last week I was working diligently on setting up my Etsy Shop. The artwork for the banner arrived and all my shop policies are in place. As soon as I get my photo lab set up for picture taking, I will begin posting my items for sale. The shop is not public yet, but here is the link to Heirloom Expressions.
Floral Butterfly Sachets
Here are a few floral butterfly lavender sachets I made using designs from The Needle of Anne. I think I am going to have to build a little photo lab to get some good lighting. There are too many shadows to work with. Anyway, my bedroom smells so nice. I will be putting these sachets up for sale.

Fly Me to the Moon
Sooooo, did I mention that I like to do counted cross stitch??? One of my favorite sites is Heaven and Earth Designs. After 30 years of doing small pieces that don't take very long to do, I graduated to designs that take me over a year to finish. This design is called Fly Me to the Moon, a cross stitch adaptation of artwork by Josephine Wall. There are 45 pages of graph to get through, that is 268,650 little stitches!!!
I started this project in April or May 2012. You can see a better picture of the design by clicking on the design site above.
I certainly don't lack for anything to do!!!
By the way, how many faces can you see in what I have completed so far?

Vintage Deer Stroller Blanket
Here is the first blanket I finished for 2013. It has machine embroidered vintage deer designs digitized by Sweet Heirloom Embroidery. The vintage deer designs are available through Oregon Patchworks. These little deer are so cute. I used them on several other projects. A cute little 38" x 38" blanket just the perfect size for stroller walks or as a carry on for car trips.
WELCOME TO MY BLOG
Hello and welcome to my space on Blogger whether you are here by happenstance or by choice. I have a broad range of hobby interests and in this blog you will see some of my creations in threadwork, sewing, quilting and maybe a few other interests that occupy my mind space and creative energy.
My husband and I live in the California Gold country foothills of Calaveras County on the 24 acre Mina Rica gold mine. We are both retired and thankful to be out of the big city atmosphere, back to living in the country where tall trees grow and our pets are the wildlife passing through.
Please feel free to take a peek at my picture trail and my photoshop page with pictures of our property and my crafting and sewing experiences. As time allows, I will be updating both sites.
